Ambassador Spotlight: Skye Morgan

19 March 2026

Meet Skye (they/them)

Hello! My name is Skye Morgan. I’m 18 years old, use they/them pronouns, and I’m proud to be an #iWill Ambassador, an MSYP, a college student, and the Editor‑in‑Chief of Queer Magazine.

Why I Founded Queer Magazine

I founded Queer Magazine because I noticed a huge gap – there aren’t many open‑source, free and accessible news outlets dedicated to LGBTQ+ issues. So, I decided to create one myself.

I’ve been studying journalism for two years now, and I’m planning to continue that journey at university. Journalism, at its heart, is meant to serve people – to tell the truth, challenge power and centre human stories. But too often, that ethos has been lost in favour of biased reporting or surface‑level “puff pieces.”

That’s why Queer Magazine lives by the slogan:

“Bringing the HUMAN back.”

The LGBTQ+ community is full of real people with complex, powerful and joyful stories — and I wanted a platform that reflects that.

My Vision for Queer Magazine

My hope is that Queer Magazine becomes a safe, inclusive and well‑loved source of news, storytelling and connection for LGBTQ+ people and allies. I want us to cover the full spectrum of LGBTQ+ experiences — not just the struggles, but the joy, creativity, resistance and community that define us.
