Preparing for Interviews!

11 April 2025

It is natural to feel nervous before any kind of interview, but there are ways you can prepare yourself and make sure you perform to the best of your ability!

– Give yourself plenty of time to prepare – if there are things you need to know for the interview, don’t leave it to the night before to start preparing.

– Use common preparation techniques, such as practising how to answer questions that you think might come up

– Make sure all practical arrangements for the interview, such as how you’re getting to the venue or the technology you need if it’s online, are made in advance

– Interviewers commonly ask you if you have any questions for them – consider this well because this is your chance to get to know more about the opportunity you are interviewing for!

– If you are unsuccessful in an interview, it is normal to be disappointed but try to treat it as a learning experience – ask for feedback if possible

And finally, the best advice I can give for an interview is to just be yourself! As long as you have done some preparation you can go into the interview with confidence in your own ability and talents – use the interview as a chance to show yourself at your best!

Websites like Indeed are full of good interview practice questions with tips and example answers and have lots of tips on how to ace your interviews!

When you’re done prepping, you can also use Google interview warm up to practice saying your answers out loud and get feedback! (the feedback is AI generated though so please take it with a grain of salt!!)

Finally if you’re at university, see if your career services have any documentation on preparing for interviews or if you can book interview prep meetings!
