Deliver You ‘Hack’ events launched in Blackpool. Empowering Young people to Shape the Future with the National Youth Strategy
Earlier this week, United Youth Alliance in Blackpool hosted the first Deliver You Hack. Young people from Blackpool, Wyre, and Fylde came together to identify challenges, create solutions, and make their voices heard. A successful launch fueled by 100 chippy teas, 1,000 post-it notes, and 20 flipcharts. The event marked a vibrant, solutions-focused step in the Deliver You Campaign, following the insights gathered from the National Youth Survey.
Thousands of young people across England have already placed their orders with the Government to help shape the National Youth Strategy. This ten-year strategy is designed to tackle the challenges faced by this generation, ensuring every young person has the opportunity to thrive. It aims to empower young people and their communities, improving youth-focused services and moving away from a one-size-fits-all approach. It’s about giving young people a real voice in shaping the future of their communities.
The Deliver You Hacks are a key part of the campaign. These youth-led workshops are designed to collaborate on solutions to the key priorities identified in the Deliver You survey, generating actionable ideas for change.
After Blackpool’s successful launch on Tuesday 2nd April, a total of 6 regional Hacks will be taking place in Manchester, Bristol, Gateshead, Birmingham, and Ipswich— focused on bringing young people together to collaborate, shape solutions and create meaningful change.
“This is a groundbreaking moment for young people in Blackpool and the Fylde Coast. Being the first to facilitate a Deliver You Hack means young people are leading the way in influencing national policy. Their voices, experiences, and solutions will help shape a strategy that truly reflects the needs and ambitions of young people across the country.”
— Deborah Terras, CEO of United Youth Alliance.
Notes For Editor
What is a ‘Hack’?
‘Hacks’ are in-person, solutions focused events, designed to generate innovative and actionable solutions to the challenges young people face, and to deepen the Government’s understanding of how these solutions can be practically implemented. Young people work collaboratively in creating solutions to the key priorities identified through the National Youth Survey.
Impact on the National Youth Strategy
The Hacks are a key part of the Deliver You campaign, which has been co-produced with young people to ensure their voices are heard. The campaign provides young people with a unique opportunity to ‘Place their Order’ with the Government – a metaphor inspired by online food delivery services – to share what matters most to them.
By the end of the Hack events, the insights gathered by Savanta will help inform policies and create a strategy that is tailored to the diverse and evolving needs of young people. These collaborative events will make sure that young people’s voices are central to the solution-building process, driving meaningful, community-informed outcomes.
