• Raise aspirations of 60,000 young people by July 2017 and support their participation in high-quality social action experiences as part of a comprehensive solution to reduce NEETs, whilst improving their employability and preparing them for life in the workplace and university. This will be done by providing students with equal social action opportunities and a platform to present themselves and their abilities.
  • Prioritise and encourage students’ involvement in social action experiences by embedding a full careers programme in our respective ULAS schools (currently 300 school)  This widens participation of those from underrepresented groups (minority ethnic groups) to university and thousands of apprenticeships and improves students’ readiness for the world of work.
  • Increase the number of students 50,000 by July 2017 engaging in high-quality social action experiences by providing enrichment events (Industry insight days, work experience, Duke of Edinburgh and NCS) for students to attend, in order to raise industry and social action awareness and to give students access to connections with employers and universities.
  •  Support the learning and awareness of the vital role soft skills play in developing a well-rounded employable young person, their equal importance to technical skills in the workplace and the contribution such character virtues can make to social change. Students will be supported through a series of careers lessons that focus on character building as a means of effecting/achieving social action
