UK Youth is passionate about the role social action can play within the spectrum of tools available within the world of youth work. We pledge to:
Build explicit social action elements into our programmes and encourage our national network to do the same.

  • Explicitly promote the social action elements of this work and the double-benefits that social action brings about. (Reaching 840,000 young people through our associated programmes 63,000 through our own directly delivered programmes.)
  • Build training materials for our network and the wider youth work sector on how to deliver high quality youth social action
  • Work with Step Up To Serve to build the narrative of how social action fits into the wider youth work agenda
  • Support the nomination of #iwill ambassadors from our network
  • Communicate about the campaign to our network and partners and affirm the importance of youth social action – also encouraging them to pledge their support for the campaign
  • Ensure that youth social action is embedded and recognised in our recruitment processes
  • Help build the evidence base of the value of youth social action from programmes we deliver and research we undertake
