Taryn Everdeen

Age 18,  England – East of England

I’ve always felt a deep need to be part of significant, lasting change. I’m now involved in multiple social action projects, focusing on gender equality, the environment and periods.

It started when I helped run the Women of the World festival. Building on that momentum, a group of us set up Girl Up Norwich, a branch of the UN Foundation’s Girl Up.

Uniting my interests in gender and the environment, I’ve been campaigning to raise awareness of reusable menstrual products.

More broadly, if we’re going to halt climate change, we need to act now, and I want to be part of that action.
