Since getting involved in my local youth council, Staffordshire Youth Union, I have become heavily invested in youth activism. My passions particularly surround the environment, democracy and education. I was elected for two terms as a Member of Youth Parliament, aiding me to build connections and contacts. Following my election, I have organised and facilitated Climate Strikes and campaigning events. Alongside this, I have utilised my experience in activism to deliver a Ted X Talk about putting the Act in Action, which promotes young people getting involved in campaigning and social action. I have subsequently received various awards for my contributions, including a local Young Volunteer of the Year Award and a British Young Citizen of the Year Award. Beyond this, I was involved in the delivery of the WHAM Plan to provide emotional wellbeing support to young people. I have further represented young people’s issues at local, regional and national levels.
