Jason Arthur joined Step Up To Serve in August 2017 and is now the Director of Strategy & Communications.
From 2014-2018, Jason served as Cabinet Member for Finance and Health for Haringey Council. As part of the council’s political leadership team, Jason shaped the borough’s £340m revenue and capital spending. As Health lead, he was also responsible for the council’s public health initiatives and integration with health and social care partners in North Central London.
Jason’s professional background is in the education sector. Prior to joining Step Up To Serve, he was a maths teacher and the Pupil Premium Achievement Lead at an outstanding secondary school in south London. Jason also worked for Teach First, initially as Teach First President and then in the charity’s strategy and partnership teams.
Jason holds an undergraduate degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford and a masters degree in Politics, Development and Education from the University of Cambridge.
Outside of the office, Jason is a keen footballer and political campaigner, and father of one. Jason’s biggest personal accomplishment is being the recipient of a’Best Booty Shaker’ award (in his youth).
