Project Description

Guy Willcock

Age 17, England – South West

Each year 30 tonnes of toads are killed by motorists in the UK, and the population is in decline.

It’s vital for us to save this valuable species. So since the age of nine, I’ve worked on toad patrols, going out at night to rescue toads, stop cars and tell motorists why they need to slow down.

Now I also help train new volunteers, and give talks on amphibian conservation to schools and youth groups.

Educating people about the environment is paramount. Every action we take is a step towards creating a better planet.
