Project Description

Gabrielle Mathews

Age 20, England

I was motivated to take social action by my interest in the people that lived around me, both old and young, and realising I could enhance their lives.

My social action has therefore included: helping to look after elderly people with dementia at a care home, working on the Young Person’s Advisory Group at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, being on the NHS Youth Forum and volunteering at St Mary’s Hospital, and as a technical advisor on Public Health England’s collaboration with the World Health Organisation. I also lead welfare campaigns for Imperial College School of Medicine’s Student Union.
