My passion for social action was ignited when I became a Ju-jitsu coach.
Having taken up the sport aged six, I wanted to give something back, so I took a coaching qualification and currently volunteer twice a week at a local centre in Belfast.
I teach children aged 5-13 and have the privilege of coaching young children with conditions such as autism, epilepsy and Turner’s syndrome. This has earned me a Millennium Volunteers award.
I’ve now branched out into NCS community projects and volunteering at my school. In future, I hope to focus more on political or justice work.
