Saeed Atcha MBE


Saeed Atcha MBE was the youngest person honoured by Her Majesty the Queen in the 2019 New Years Honours List. He is the Founding CEO of Xplode Magazine, where he has supported more than 3,000 disadvantaged young Greater Mancunian’s access volunteering opportunities and skills development programmes.

Saeed serves as Government Social Mobility Commissioner and was also an expert advisor to the Government’s review on Full-Time Social Action. He is a trustee of Young Manchester, Generation: You Employed UK, Beacon Bolton Counselling Service and an Advisory Council member to the Care Tech Foundation. He is a school governor at his former secondary school, Ladybridge High School in Bolton. Alongside this, Saeed is working towards a masters degree in Public Relations and Marketing.

Speaking about his reappointment Saeed said: When I became a young Trustee at Step up to Serve in 2016, I said that I was thrilled to fly the flag for young people – that’s not changed! More than ever before, young people are ready to take on an active part in improving our communities. I’m really pleased to have been reappointed and I’m excited to support Step up to Serve in the final couple of years of the #iwill campaign.
