ISC Working Party on Community Action in Independent Schools

ISC Working Party on Community Action in Independent Schools

  • We will disseminate good practice, confirm our biennial conference and share the Working Party’s experience with any enquirer, and especially with other schools.
  • We will offer examples of good practice for members of Step Up To Serve and any other interested schools to visit. For a list of these, please contact Vikki Askew at vikki.askew@jags.org.uk
  • We have organised a National Conference for young people involved in social action, on November 7 at King Edward’s School, Birmingham, and are currently working with local and national organisations and contacts to involve as many young people as possible in both attending and actively participating in the day.
We're still working on our pledge to the #iwill campaign. Next progress update is coming soon, so watch this space!

Quote from Charlotte Hill, CEO at Step Up To Serve
"The #iwill campaign is driven by leaders from across society who are committed to making youth social action a normal part of growing up in the UK. We know that young people want to play an active part in improving their communities, and that in doing so, they develop their own skills for work and life. Over 350 cross-sector organisations so far have pledged to support youth social action, and say #iwill. What will you do?"
