Globalteer pledges to actively encourage young people aged between 15 and 20 to participate in social action, specifically international volunteering and cultural exchange by

  • Forging closer relationships with British universities
  • Instigating new relationships with British schools
  • Seeking financial support from corporate and institutional partners in order to make international volunteering accessible to a broader youth demographic

We joined the campaign quite late in the year but we are delighted to say that we are already talking to many schools and universities about supporting our charitable overseas projects, either through fund raising or, even more excitingly, by visiting the projects and volunteering.

Quote from Simon Hare, Development Director, Globalteer
“After 10 years placing volunteers, we know that volunteering not only has positive and long term benefits to the projects we work with, but it also has a big impact on our volunteers – broadening their horizons, changing their attitudes and helping them to develop on a personal level. We have pledged to make such opportunities accessible to more young people because we know we will be helping to create a new generation of globally aware and socially active young people, something which can only benefit society as a whole.”
