England Golf

England Golf is the governing body for amateur golf in England, looking after the interests of more than 1,900 golf clubs and 675,000 men, women, boy and girl club members. Our message is that golf is a game for life and our Get into golf campaign sets out to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to take up the game with great value coaching from PGA professionals.

Together with our partners, we offer business support to help clubs plan for the future and to grow their business and their membership.  We encourage more golfers to become club members and help us show that golf is an accessible, fun and family-friendly game with many health benefits.

We run championships and tournaments, including team events, for players of all abilities and ages. We also identify and develop the country’s most talented golfers and support them through their amateur careers. Our pledge is:

  • To encourage, engage and empower young people to volunteer in golf through the development of a young volunteer programme that will recognise, reward and raise the profile of the contribution young people make to golf that is helping to create stronger clubs and counties.
  • Our programme will ensure that young people have a voice and the opportunity to shape the work we do so that it reflects their views and opinions and focuses on their needs.
  • We will create a community, led by our young ambassadors, where young people can link together to maximise their potential and involvement in golf.

We’ve just pledged to the #iwill campaign recently – watch this space for updates on our progress

Quote from Charlotte Hill, CEO at Step Up To Serve
“The #iwill campaign is driven by leaders from across society who are committed to making youth social action a normal part of growing up in the UK.
We know that young people want to play an active part in improving their communities, and that in doing so, they develop their own skills for work and life.
Over 700 cross-sector organisations so far have pledged to support youth social action, and say #iwill. What will you do?”
