Education Scotland

Education Scotland

  • Ensure that all children and young people develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they will need if they are to flourish in life, learning and work, now and in the future.
  • Enable each child or young person to be a successful learner, a confident individual, a responsible citizen and an effective contributor. We know that young people across Scotland contribute greatly and effectively to their communities in so many inspiring ways. This focus on the social outcomes of learning has been an integral part of education in Scotland and this is reflected and celebrated in our national curriculum.
  • Continue to support and report upon young people’s contributions to their communities in our inspections and aspect reviews.

We’ve just pledged to the #iwill campaign recently – watch this space for updates on our progress

Quote from Charlotte Hill, CEO at Step Up To Serve
“The #iwill campaign is driven by leaders from across society who are committed to making youth social action a normal part of growing up in the UK.
We know that young people want to play an active part in improving their communities, and that in doing so, they develop their own skills for work and life.
Over 700 cross-sector organisations so far have pledged to support youth social action, and say #iwill. What will you do?”
